In this engaging workshop for Ashoka University's 2024 batch, students were guided to break free from conventional thinking and explore creativity beyond the boundaries of definite shapes. They were introduced to the basics of character design, learning how to bring unique and expressive characters to life. Through interactive sessions, the students developed a deeper understanding of visual storytelling, unleashing their imagination to create characters that go beyond standard forms and embody dynamic personalities.

In this portrait workshop for undergraduate students at Ashoka University, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of face grammar, learning how to break down facial structures and proportions. They developed essential pencil techniques, including controlling pressure for more precise shading and lines. The workshop also introduced the LOOMIS method, guiding students through a step-by-step approach to sketching realistic faces. By the end of the session, students had gained a stronger grasp on both the technical and artistic aspects of portrait sketching.

The Art of Portraiture

This special comic workshop brought together a diverse group of students, including those on need-based scholarships, international students, and children from rural areas of India. Among the participants was a visually impaired student, for whom tactile plates were designed to help her engage with the material. Students were encouraged to think beyond simple shapes and explore the creative possibilities of character design. The workshop aimed to nurture creativity and show that art is an accessible and powerful means of expression, regardless of background or challenges.
